Exhibition statement

You wake from dreaming and your thoughts linger over the fading image, of holding her tightly to you, a familial embrace. It’s early morning and the shadows of fluttering leaves dance across your bedroom curtain as you wipe away your silent tears of longing.

Across the room is the little figurine she gave you and you think ‘if only to hold her again’, as you dwell in that space between the shadows and your dream for just a little longer.

Then shadows change as the day moves on…

Between shadows and a dream is a meditation on loss and longing, of the presence of those absent from our lives through the traces that they leave behind.
